Balustrade Garden Walls
Adorning grand buildings of the past and many more today, balustrade, originally called balusters, is the name given to small columns when used in conjunction with coping for the construction of garden, patio walls and decorative garden designs.

One complete balustrade section is 2 feet, (60cm). A complete section is a Base Plinth Rail, a Top Coping Rail and 2 or 3 Balusters.
Standard Size Balusters -Two or three (optional) per section - H 46cm
Large Size Balusters - Two or three (optional) per section (Same coping and base plinth as in the standard size) Height of 38" (962mm).
A steel support rod runs throughout the Large Size balusters and protrudes at the base to aid with fixing, through drilling holes in a base plinth and cutting to suit.
A complete pedestal section is pedestal base, pedestal coping and pedestal.
Add pedestals every three to five sections, at the end of your garden wall or whatever suits your designs.
Standard Size Pedestals - One complete pedestal including coping and base is 2 feet high and 1 foot wide (30cm).
Large Size Pedestals - Pedestals suitable for use with large size balustrade come in two sections. Finish with top coping and base plinth as per the standard size.
The overall, inclusive of coping and base, height of large pedestals is 38" (962mm), they are 1ft" sq (30cm sq).

Mortar - Just ordinary soft sand and Portland cement which is widely available at builders merchants. If your order is for 'buff' finish, some dye for you to add to your mix (half a cup in each mix) will be supplied. Clear Adhesive may be a preferred option for joining large pedestals together, also concrete filling for stability.
